These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cogilo Google Docs Add-on (the "Service") provided by P2P Industries Inc. ("P2P", "we", "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By installing or using Cogilo you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are acting on behalf of an organization you represent that you have authority to bind that entity. You may not use the Service if you are under 13 years old or if local law otherwise prohibits use.

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE

Cogilo integrates into Google Docs to provide AI-powered writing assistance such as analysis, summarization, and rewriting. It sends the text you select to Anthropic's AI API, receives an output, and inserts it back into your document. The Service currently is free; P2P may introduce paid tiers in the future.

3. GOOGLE PERMISSIONS AND OAUTH

The add-on requests the minimal Google scopes needed: documents.currentonly to read and write the active document, script.external_request for secure API calls, and script.container.ui for the sidebar interface. We use these scopes strictly to operate Cogilo in compliance with Google's Limited Use policy.

4. USER CONDUCT AND ACCEPTABLE USE

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with Google policies.
  • Do not attempt to generate content that is illegal, hateful, or exploits minors.
  • No reverse engineering, automated scraping, or rate-limiting bypass.
  • You are responsible for reviewing AI output and ensuring it is accurate and non-infringing.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Cogilo's code, design, and trademarks belong to P2P. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the add-on. You retain ownership of your documents and AI-generated text. Feedback you provide may be used by us without compensation.

6. PRIVACY AND DATA USAGE

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data. By using Cogilo you consent to those practices, including transmission of selected document text to Anthropic for processing and collection of anonymous usage analytics via PostHog.

7. DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy or suitability of AI output, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent allowed by law, P2P shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability will not exceed USD $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is higher.

9. SERVICE MODIFICATIONS

We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time without liability. We will try to give reasonable notice of major changes.

10. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

11. TERMINATION

You may uninstall Cogilo at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or if the Service is discontinued.

12. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Delaware unless local law grants you consumer rights to sue elsewhere.

13. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

14. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and P2P regarding Cogilo.
